This really is not classified as a purse but what can I say.....
This is a back pack type "purse" made from a tee shirt. I hesitate to call this a purse because this style is very popular for males. It has loops that fit over each arm for easy carrying. The top is a draw string with strong heavy duty rivets at the bottom for the cord to pull through for adjustment. The size is perfect for travel or gym clothes or even lunch. The cost is $15.00, you supply the shirt. This would be a very neat and personal stocking stuffer.

I know Thanksgiving is right around the corner but Christmas decorations have been out since before Halloween soooo.....
Here is a Christmas bag to help to get into the mood. It has a grey (very "in" this year) background with sparkling snow covered trees in the foreground. Enhanced with Christmas red triangles on the outside and the lining is the same red. Very festive. For added fun, a snowman pin is acting as a topper for one of the trees. Inside pockets and an over the shoulder strap, this purse is $25. Remember, these are one of a kind....no other like it, which makes it very special.

Small but mighty!
While in Florida last week, I noticed a very popular trend. Actually, I have seen it here as well. It is the small cross body purse. This one has a quilted body of purple striped cotton fabric, and a complementary floral fabric for the inside pocket and outside flap. In the corner on the front is a purple floral embellishment. The strap is thin and long enough to fit across the body comfortably. The purse is 9" x 7", large enough for a phone, ID, money and keys. Price is $12.50

In the Clutches!
This is just another design for those of you who like a smaller version to either use as a wallet or to grab and go. The pocket is large enough for the all important phone and the rest can hold the other necessities needed when running an errand. It is held securely with a magnetic closure.
This little beauty is $12. Of course, I can make any color combinations you prefer.

A diaper bag always ready to go for those unexpected events where you need to leave right away but not have to take enough for a long stay. Color selection is up to you...
The size is 13" by 12" excluding the straps. These straps are braided and embellished with coordinating buttons. This bag is also completely washable.

This little beauty measures 14" long by 12-1/2" wide with a pull string closure. It is a perfect size for a travel shoe bag, with room for at least two pair, unless you wear a large size like I do. LOL Then you will have to have more than one. Anyway....
With the shopping season already upon us, this bag would make a good stocking stuffer. Just an idea I'm throwing out there! The bag is made of a durable outdoor fabric. Price $10.00

Messenger anybody?
Today I am presenting three different Messenger bags. Two are of the feminine nature, one has the exterior (hearts) and both have linings which would be more appealing to the female of the species. These bags all have inside pockets, a wide and comfortably long shoulder harness and would carry any electronic device. Roomy and portable, two are made of soft suede-like material, the one with the heart motif is of durable denim like fabric.
Measurements are approx. 13-1/2" by 13-1/2" by 2" wide. Each priced at $40.

Gimme a Break!
I thought I would take a break from football and baseball to highlight bags that are made from tees promoting our local school. The first two are the same bag, front and back, using a tee I purchased when my grandson was in the Smithville High School Marching Band.
The last two photos are of separate tees, from my daughter's collection when she taught there. These bags have a braided handle where the first one is a straight strap.
Again, they are perfect for gym or lunch bags, because they are completely washable. All are lined with coordinating fabric and have at least one pocket.
I hope this might give you an idea of making use of some tees you might have collected over the years, whether it is school, or an event or a sports team. I know I was surprised at how many I have accumulated over the years. You know the old adage, "My mom and day went to WHEREVER and all I got was this tee shirt!"
I am ready to help you clean out your closet and re purpose those tee shirts! $20.00 Email me....
I can't leave without wishing the Royals luck...but when I decided to do this it wasn't looking too good for them.

Are you ready for Christmas?
No, this isn't a Christmas tree although it is shaped like one. All I need to add are lights. Actually it is a display of all the purses I have been making. They are hung on what used to be a tie display rack from a store that went out of business. I purchased it from our church garage sale, my son-in-law positioned the racks so each purse can be displayed, and now you see the result.
My plan is to show a purse close up and personal. Like the one below for all you Royals Fans. It is 12-1/2" x 10-1/2" excluding the handle. It has a snap closure and two inside pockets. This one is $25 but its sister, which is 11-1/2" x 10" is $20. Although these are not made from tee shirts, they are completely washable.

It's all in the details!
Please excuse me for not including details about the purse on the previous blog. I should have given the measurements. Soooo, here they are: at the widest or the lower part of the purse, it is 13" and 12" from top to bottom with a 24" drop from the handle. Of course, this will vary depending on the size of the tee shirt. These details will be included from now on. Promise!
Again, for a purse this size with four inside pockets would cost $20.00 plus shipping.

The First Tee Purse
This is the first purse I made from a tee shirt purchased at the Turner Classic Movie Cruise. As you can see it is pretty basic. However, inside it has four pockets, two on either side of the purse. The pockets are large enough to contain cells, pens, notepads, keys, camera......making access to these items very handy.
I have washed this purse and as you can see, it looks great. It really is a good size for the gym or day trip.
Latest additions to this design include snap closure, outside pockets (depending on the shirt design), and braided or two straps. Photos of purses with those features in future postings.
These make great gifts for teachers, fellow runners and/or ship mates and is a great conversation starter. Just saying!

Getting Started
Hi, and welcome to my space. How did this idea begin? Well, to tell the truth I had all this fabric and realized I needed to do something useful with it, (thanks to my Native American grandmother and her teaching me not to waste anything) plus I love to create through sewing. I know, you are thinking, make a quilt or maybe ten, (I have a lot of fabric) but I've been there and have done that already.
It began with a purse I made from a tee I purchased on my first cruise. Just how many tee shirts can you wear at a time...? In fact, I am not crazy about wearing tees to start with but I wanted something to remember the event. Returning home, I begin to search for ideas. Hummmm. A purse was the answer. It is light weight, easy to carry and plus, its washable! Go to the stash for a compatible lining and whala! a purse! Since then I have made many more from sports team tees, school tees, event tees.....the list is endless.
If you have a tee you want made into a purse, (with inside pockets), let me know. Cost is $20 plus shipping. Very reasonable, right?
My daughter, Melissa, (the "M" in MS Purses) is in this idea with me. Talk about a stash of fabric! She has a stash! More about her in future postings.
Our goal is to offer one of a kind purses, something you won't see multiples of and yet to make them affordable but most of all fun to carry. A statement, if you will.
Thanks for visiting and watch for more.
